St. Leonard has an exciting new opportunity for a Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing.

Our beautiful 240-acre campus is one of the largest Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the United States. St. Leonard features independent living, assisted living, dementia care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation services, and adult day care as well as a community wellness center that encompasses a fitness center, and restaurant.

The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing with the administration of assigned nursing units, including policy development, organizational planning and the direction of the delivery of geriatric nursing care, as well as the development and monitoring of standards of gerontological nursing practices. This position also requires promoting public relations, education and consultation within assigned units.

  1. Develops and implements an ongoing infection prevention and control program to
    prevent, recognize, and control the onset and spread of infections in order to provide a
    safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment.
  2. Collaborates with other departments in fulfilling requirements related to occupational
    health and safety (i.e. employee health). 
  3. Ensures public health is notified of reportable diseases.
  4. Assists the Director of Nursing in day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in
    accordance with Federal, State, and organizational rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  5. Attends committee meetings as assigned.
  6. Assists in the management of nursing staff.
  7. Completes nursing care functions for the facility.

In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Assistant Director of Nursing shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission and values (compassion, excellence, inclusion, integrity, collaboration) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Furthermore, every employee must abide by all campus, departmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.

CHI Living Communities has the right to change the job specific duties and specifications required for the position of Assistant Director of Nursing from time to time without prior notice.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing. 
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment. 
  • Certified as a Gerontology Nurse, preferred.
  • Experience as a floor nurse with least one year clinical experience related to geriatric nursing. 
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Currently certified in CPR.
