Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Communications leads and manages all internal and external communications efforts for CHI Living Communities. This critical role shapes the company's public image, builds brand reputation, and fosters strong relationships with key stakeholders including current and potential residents, family members, and employees. The Director develops and executes comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the overall business objectives of CHI Living Communities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that aligns with the overall marketing and business goals of CHI Living Communities.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of all corporate communications materials, including press releases, media kits, website content, social media posts, internal newsletters, and presentations.
- Manage media relations, including building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets. Proactively pitch stories and respond to media inquiries.
- Develop and maintain a strong corporate social media presence across various platforms.
- Manage crisis communications and develop protocols for handling sensitive situations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and implement internal communications strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Collaborate with other departments including CommonSpirit national team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives and provide regular reports to the VP of Marketing & Communications.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in corporate communications.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall marketing and communications plan.
- Support the VP of Marketing & Communications in special projects as needed.
In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Director of Communications shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission and values (compassion, excellence, inclusion, integrity, collaboration) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in corporate communications, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience in the senior living or healthcare industry is highly preferred.
- Regular attendance is an essential part of this job.
